Jordan Bernal
Vice President
Deborah ‘Jordan’ Bernal (vp@calwriters.org) Jordan Bernal joined CWC Tri-Valley Branch in January 2010.
She has volunteered in a variety of branch board positions, most notably as the president three different times. Jordan currently serves as vice president of the CWC central board. She is the international award-winning author of The Keepers of Éire, a dragon fantasy that encourages readers to let their imaginations take flight. Love of fantasy inspires her to write and publish through her independent press, Dragon Wing Publishing. In 2017, Jordan published a middle-grade, anti-bullying spin off novel, Reluctant Paladin. The second novel in her adult series, The Keepers of Alba, was published in 2020, and she is currently working on the third novel in her Celtic Dragonrider series. Crissi Langwell
Secretary
Crissi Langwell writes romance novels that tell stories of the heart.
She joined Redwood Writers in 2012 and has served as the club’s 2020 and 2021 anthologies editor, along with past vice president, secretary, newsletter editor, and social media manager. Currently, she is the club’s president and web editor. When she’s not writing or serving Redwood Writers, she’s working as Communications Director For Oakmont Village Association in Santa Rosa, or enjoying family life with her husband, Shawn, at home in Petaluma. Bernard Wozny
Treasurer
Bernard’s career as a software engineer, allowed him to specialize in digital TV.
His
career culminated as a consultant, whose clients included Sony, News Corp, OpenTV,
Virgin Media, Cisco, to name but a few.
Throughout his career, he mentored all those around him, from interns to management.
With this he gained respect and promotion.
As past president of the Sacramento branch, he always promoted the membership of
the club. He championed California Writer Week, and created the Sacramento Book
Festival. His aim is to promote fellow writers.
His knowledge of business provides Bernard with valuable insight to assist the
California Writers Club. His insight into accounting provides welcome knowledge as
treasurer.
His love of engineering inspired him to write science thrillers, where technology
challenges humanity and vice versa. He is also driven to write creative nonfiction, where
true stories are dramatized in words.
Bernard continues to uphold the values of the California Writers Club.,

Susan Owens
Bulletin Editor
Susan Marquez Owen is the former newsletter editor for the Sacramento branch of the California Writer’s Club.
A granddaughter of Mexican migrant farm workers and great-granddaughter of Welsh coal miners, education was key to her life trajectory. After graduating from high school with highest honors, she won a full scholarship to Stanford University. There she earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a master’s degree in English and American Literature with an emphasis on poetry. Susan worked as a developmental editor for Addison-Wesley Publishing Conmpany. She also worked as an award-winning news reporter and foreign service correspondent for The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Oakland Tribune. Now retired, she writes poetry and short stories, and is beginning her first novel.
